'Two and a Half Men' star Charlie Sheen has pleaded guilty to assaulting his wife.
The film and television actor was sentenced to 30 days in drug and alcohol rehabilitation after being arrested on Christmas Day when his third wife, Brooke Mueller, told police he had pulled a knife on her and threatened to have her killed.
Sheen was detained at a rented holiday home in Aspen, Colorado, following the reported argument between the pair.
Under a plea deal reached with prosecutors in the city, he will also be on probation for three months in which he cannot consume any non-prescription drugs or intake an excessive amount of alcohol.
The 'Hot Shots' star was also ordered to attend 36 hours of anger management classes.
He had been charged with felony menacing, misdemeanour third degree assault and misdemeanour criminal mischief with the first and last charges being dropped after pleading guilty.
When asked how he pleaded, the 44-year-old son of 'Apocalypse Now' star Martin Sheen said: "Guilty as charged, your honour."
He will serve his time in rehab at a Promises treatment centre in California, and is allowed to continue working on his TV show 'Two and Half Men' - a show which has made him the highest paid sitcom actor in the world, commanding over $1m per episode.
