Charlie Hebdo attackers: One surrenders, seven arrested and two hunted by police

Police have located two suspects in northern France while the third suspect turned himself into French authorities last night.

French police has located two suspects who are believed have carried out the crime that killed 12 journalists and policeman at the Paris offices of the satirical French magazine Charlie Hebdo on Wednesday. The suspects were earlier named as brothers Said and Cheriff Kouachi. They were located in northern France.

Meanwhile, the third suspect turned himself into French authorities last night as France enters a day of national mourning. 18-year-old Hamyd Mourad surrended to the police after seeing his name on social media. He said that he was at school at 11:30am yesterday when the attacks took place.

Seven other individuals, who are associated with the suspects, were also arrested last night and were detained in the towns of Reims and Charlesville-Mezieres, as well as in the Paris area.

The murder of 12 people by masked men has shocked France. Yesterday, two men forcibly entered the offices of the satirical magazine, where a weekly editorial meeting was taking place. They opened fire after compelling the nine journalists to identify themselves. They were later seen fleeing the building and shooting at the police.
