In an interview with Bizarre last Saturday, boxer David Haye said that he was game for a bout with Hollywood star Tom Hardy.
Haye, who is highly respected in the ring, spoke admirably about the 'The Dark Knight Rises' villain’s impressive frame, saying: “He has got fantastic shape – he looks like an absolute tank. He can be my next opponent.” He also added, “Me and Tom Hardy, that would be a good fight for sure.”
'Warrior' actor Tom is up for it too. With a smile and a cheeky wink, he said that he’d fight the professional boxer on the condition that any money raised goes to various charities namely Help for Heroes, the Prince’s Trust, Breakthrough Breast Cancer, Bowel Cancer Research, and FLACK homeless charity.
Tom’s response to the challenge: “Hardy vs. Hayemaker? No problem. Let me take my make-up off first. I’ll fight him as soon as I get back form the Congo with my mates if he wants.”
“I’ve never fought a professional heavyweight, it’ll be an experience.”
He ended with: “Let’s have it. We all know how this is going to end, don’t we? Not good for Tommy.”
Tom, however, is hardly inexperienced in battle, though not the kind that goes on in the ring. When not filming blockbusters, he spends time with his former SAS and RAF mates in Congo and Afghanistan. He is also part-owner of Raven’s Wing, under Pilgrims Group. The company provides strong guys to look after folks in dangerous places.
Lately, Tom has been piling up terrifying roles on the big screen; many of his roles required him to be in bulky shape. Aside from 'Warrior', he also starred in 'The Dark Knight Rises', where he played Batman’s nemesis Bane but he also got into huge shape for 'Bronson' – his breakout role.
