Big Brother has decided things have got boring in the house, so for their latest task the remaining six housemates will be chained together in pairs.

"Staff were anxious that the housemates will become boring," an insider from the show told the Daily Mirror.

"They didn't want things getting stale, especially as the show is going into the last few weeks. The handcuffs seemed a good idea at the time," the source adds.

The housemates did not take the news well.

Big Brother decided who would be chained to who, decreeing that housemates must remain chained when they are not in the toilet or the diary room.

When one of the pair is unchained the other has to wait in a designated area until their mate returns and then re-attaches themselves.

What is worse, for the duration of the task the contestants are not allowed to do their own hair, make-up, brush their own teeth or apply their own moisturiser (Jason) or tanning lotion (Jason again).

Dan will be chained to Nadia, Jason to Michelle and Stuart to Shell.

"I don't want to sleep in a bed with Jason," whined Michelle.

She then warned Stu "Behave yourself, you," and slapped him on the leg.

Meanwhile Jason looks set for the Stuart treatment.

"I'll have to go for walks with you," Michelle told the Scot.

"I just hope there's a lot of leeway in this," he muttered, ostensibly stressing his need to do press-ups.
