The relaunch of Big Brother began last night on Channel 5, with three weeks of a 'celebrity' edition.
After rumours of Charlie Sheen and Pamela Anderson swirled around the media, the actual contestants left a lot to be desired.
Recently married fading socialite Tare Reid headed up the housemates, with reality TV professionals Kerry Katona and Amy Childs following close behind.
Tuneless twin X Factor losers Jedward joined in alongside a photographer calling himself Mr Paparazzi, and an apparent male model called Bobby Sabel swiftly followed. Britain's Got Talent judge David Hasselhoff's ex-wife Pamela Bach-Hasselhoff also joined the house alongside Lucian Laviscount, an actor who spent a few weeks in Coronation Street some years ago.
Then came bare-knuckle fighter Paddy Doherty who shot to infamy on Big Fat Gypsy Weddings, alongside the publicity-seeking Sally Bercow, wife of the Speaker of the House of Commons.
During the launch ex-Atomic Kitten star Kerry Katona was given a secret task by Big Brother that involved her throwing 'a massive celebrity tantrum'.
Big Brother told her to: "Get creative and make sure you really kick off. Shouldn't be too tricky for you, should it Kerry?"
Celebrity Big Brother airs on Channel Five.
