Candice Stowe is going to sever ties with the Street when she becomes a hairdresser for Status Quo.

The Quo have been featuring in the soap recently as part of Les and Cilla's wedding celebrations. Les's favourite band end up playing at his reception.

And now Candice, who has always been on the hunt for celebrity, takes up the chance to be a coiffeuse for the ageing stars, thinking she's finally got her big break.

A Weatherfield mole told the Sun: "Candice has always been a bit of a joke character, so it is fitting she leaves on a funny storyline.

"She has always wanted to be famous but her harebrained attempts to get there, such as trying to be a weathergirl, never quite work out."

The insider added that Candice is thrilled to be offered the job of Quo coiffeuse, saying: "She thinks its glamorous."

Actress Nikki Sanderson will hope to do rather better than her on-screen character when she leaves the soap.
