Cage in £4m tax debt

Hollywood actor Nicolas Cage is reportedly facing legal action by US tax officials over non-payment of $6.2 million (£4m) in income tax.

According to reports, Cage has been served with a lien from the Internal Revenue Service for not keeping up with his payments in 2007.

The IRS has taken their case to a court in Louisiana with papers claiming Cage owes them $6,257,000.

The 45-year-old actor has reportedly failed to pay the 2007 federal income tax on his £2.5m New Orleans mansion and his £2m Hollywood residence.

The two homes are both currently on the market.
