Businesses encouraged to invest in local talent

Government wants to ensure that local talent is getting fair shot at obtaining jobs.

Finances look bleak for many unemployed workers in the UK and businesses aren’t supposed to discriminate between UK applicants and those who apply from abroad. Companies are being encouraged to spend resources investing in local workers so they aren’t discriminating against the locals.

A pivotal role in repairing the economy will be educating and employing the million unemployed 18-24 year olds, as well as the other age groups among the unemployed. Businesses want to avoid illegal hiring activities, but government suggests that there is a difference between discriminating and properly investing in local candidates.

Apprenticeship programmes have begun for many individuals that will hopefully yield a positive impact on finances for the individuals, as well as for the UK’s economy. If you are unemployed here are a few things to consider:

This might not immediately help your finances, but over time you might benefit from a little bit of extra while you continue your job seeking. Friends and family can be great resources to forward news of jobs that might best suit your skills and preferences.
