BRITS 2013: Emeli Sande and Adele were among the winners

The winners of the BRIT Awards 2013 have been revealed following Wednesday night’s ceremony

Many people tuned in to watch this year’s BRIT Awards, and many predictions came true. Popular “Read All About It” singer Emile Sande was one lady who came out on top, after winning best British Female as well as Best Album.

The awards evening, which was hosted by funny man James Corden despite concerns he had recently been suffered with tonsillitis, took place at the O2 Arena in London and saw an array of performances from different artists.

 

Among them was Robbie Williams, who came out wearing a blue suit after being camouflaged on stage, who performed his song “Candy”. And the media hype surrounding America’s heartthrob Justin Timberlake came to an end when it the question was answered; he did in fact perform.

 

Other award-winners include Ben Howard, who won the Best British Male and Breakthrough Act, and folk group Mumford and Sons - won collected the Best British Band award.

 

For the Best Live Act, the Rolling Stones failed to grab the gong as Coldplay took the BRIT award home.

 

And the show wouldn’t have been complete, as far as many One Direction fans are concerned, if the boy band ‘1D’ didn’t make an appearance. They jumped into their rendition of “Teenage Kicks” while stood on what seemed to be a giant red pinball machine.

 

For those people who enjoy watching a guitar show, Muse didn’t disappoint their fans when they opened the show.

 

Following on from last year’s BRIT Awards where singer Adele was interrupted during her speech, the home-grown star made her speech via a video recording this year, as she won Best Single. Adele took the award for the James Bond song “Skyfall”, although could not attend the night as she was based in Los Angeles.
