Britney Spears embarrassed herself during a live performance in Manchester by announcing: "What's up, London?"

The on-stage slip up stunned the audience at Manchester's MEN Arena where she was performing her only UK gig outside the capital.

Many fans where unimpressed by the gaffe, one telling The Daily Mirror: "If she can't tell the difference between London and Manchester what hope has she got?"

This is not the first time the pop princess has been confused about where she is performing.

At a show in San Jose, California, in April, she asked: "What's up Sacramento?"

Britney has completed eight nights at London's O2 Arena this month for her world tour 'Circus'.
