Britney Spears has splashed out £3 million on a Hawaiian love nest.

The pop babe fell for the waterfront mansion - which includes a pool and an outdoor Jacuzzi - during a recent trip to Maui.

She hopes the idyllic home will be the perfect place for her and husband Kevin Federline - who have a four-month-old son, Sean Preston - to save their tempestuous marriage.

A source is quoted in Britain's The Sun newspaper as saying: "Britney is really hoping this new home will be a family place.

"They have been on rocky ground for some time and Britney has decided she has to do something to make things work.

"She's hoping it will bring some luck to their relationship. If you can't fall back in love on the golden beaches in Hawaii, then where can you?"
