Britney's baby boy

Britney Spears has given birth to a baby boy, according to US reports.

American magazine Us Weekly claims the singer gave birth to a son by Caesarean section at the UCLA Medical Centre in Santa Monica around 1pm yesterday (14.09.05).

Britney and husband Kevin Federline, who already has two children with ex-girlfriend Shar Jackson, have reportedly named the tot Preston Michael.

However, the star's spokesman, David Frostman, has so far refused to confirm the reports, saying: "I wish I could give you details about the weight and when the baby was born but I have no information to give.

"I cannot even confirm she has given birth."

Hospital spokesman Ted Braun also insisted the singer was not there yesterday, adding: "Nobody by that name - Britney Spears or Britney Federline - was admitted here."

However, sources claim Britney had her baby earlier than planned after she was rushed to hospital on Friday (09.09.05) with early contractions.

The 23-year-old beauty recently admitted she would probably have a Caesarean operation because she was scared of giving birth naturally.

She said: "I have a feeling I'm going to have an operation.

"I don't want to go through the pain. My mom said giving birth was the most excruciating thing she's ever gone through."
