Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie shared a hotel suite during a recent weekend away, it has been claimed.

The Hollywood heartthrob and the Oscar-winning beauty allegedly checked into California's exclusive Le Parker Meridien hotel as a married couple, using the name Mr and Mrs Pilaf.

The stars - who have been dogged by rumours of an affair - were holding interviews at the hotel promoting their movie, 'Mr and Mrs Smith'.

However, they reportedly stayed on afterwards - spending a further two days relaxing together.

A source told Britain's The Sun newspaper: "Brad and Angelina jointly rented a suite at the Meridien. It tied in with publicity for the movie but they registered as a married couple. "The room was paid up for the Easter weekend."

Brad's split from wife Jennifer Aniston was blamed on rumours that he and Angelina had a steamy affair while making the movie.

However, Brad - who was recently hit with divorce papers from Jennifer - and Angelina have always denied the claims, with Angelina saying she would never sleep with a married man.

Earlier this month, the pair went to great lengths to quash rumours of an affair by standing as far away from each other as possible as they posed for pictures at a movie studio lunch.
