Boyzone singer Keith Duffy is said to make a return to Coronation Street, according to reports.
The pop star has been in comeback talks with the show's producers earlier this week, reports The Sun.
Duffy played ladies' man and street barman Ciaran McCarthy for two years between 2003 and 2005. He left the ITV soap to spend more time with his family.
Corrie writers are hoping to bring the character back to team up with his old friend Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne) for a pub venture set to rival the long established drinking establishment The Rovers.
The Sun claims that Duffy is to sign a six-month contract to reprise his role as womanising barman Ciaran with a six-month option.
A Corrie source told The Sun: "Everything is in place for him to return in the New Year. It's exciting to have him back."
