A man is facing questioning with regards to the blasts at the Boston Marathon. Dzokhar Tsarnaev, who is in hospital, is a suspect and is reportedly answering questions in writing due to an injury.
According to media reports, Mr. Tsarnaev’s throat is wounded making it difficult for him to speak in response to questions over the bombings which took place last Monday, 15th April. Although, officials have not confirmed this information and it is speculation as of time of press.
His brother Tamerlan Tsarnaev was also suspected of being involved with the bomb attacks at the Boston Marathon. He died following a shoot-out on Friday, 19th April.
One officer tragically lost his life during the shooting on Friday.
Before the weekend, police were chasing two men outside of Boston and gun-fire was exchanged. The police hunt took officers to Watertown, Massachusetts, which is around seven miles outside of the city of Boston, where Mr. Tsarnaev was found hiding in a boat.
It is believed Mr. Tsarnaev was taken to the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Boston.
The two men are understood to have moved from Russia to the US where they have lived for around a decade.
The blasts at the Boston Marathon killed three people, with one victim being eight years old. The bombs, which went off at the finishing line where spectators were waiting for their family/friends to complete the race, injured 180 people.
As a result of the bombings in Boston, security was stepped up in certain areas.
The UK looked at their security ahead of the London Marathon event, which took place on Sunday 21st April.
