Book misprints swap Bridget Jones and David Jason text

A printing error merged Helen Fielding's Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy with Sir David Jason's memoirs.

Book lovers who took Helen Fielding’s latest Bridget Jones book off the shelf got an accidental preview of Sir David Jason’s memoirs.

 

The reason behind this is because 40 pages of the latter were accidentally included in the final chapter of hapless singleton Bridget Jones’s Diaries.

 

Vintage Publishers acknowledged the mistake saying: “The printers have had a Bridget moment.” It added that it will recall the misprinted copies and replace them with correct versions.

 

The Vintage spokesman continued: "A printing error has been detected in some of the very early copies of Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy.”

 

"Copies printed on one day have given readers an accidental preview of David Jason's autobiography."

 

Both books were published on “Super Thursday”, a term in publishing world when publishing houses put out some of their highest priority titles for the Christmas market.

 

Other books that were released include My Life in Laughs; Mo Farah’s Twin Ambitions, Jennifer Saunders’ autobiography Bonkers, and John Bishops’s How Did All This Happen?
