A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police has confirmed that body parts have been discovered in a house in Bristol while searching for missing teen Becky Watts.
Detective Superintendent Mike Courtiour said: “As a result of new information received… we attended a house at Barton Court in the Barton Hill area.”
“The information suggested that Becky’s body had been cut up and a search at the new location resulted in the discovery of body parts.”
The 16-year-old went missing on February 19 from her home in St George area. Reports said that she left with her phone, laptop, and tablet computer but did not bring extra clothes. She also did not inform anybody where she was going.
Detective Courtiour added: "This is devastating news for Becky's family and friends and our thoughts are with them. We will continue to offer every support we can to them during this terrible ordeal."
Following the discovery of body parts, the police arrested a 28-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman. Yesterday, another three men and two women were arrested, bringing the total number of people in custody to seven.
