Beckinsale's no to Wonder Woman

Kate Beckinsale has ruled herself out of starring in the new 'Wonder Woman' movie - because she doesn't want to embarrass her daughter.

The British actress has been hotly-tipped to star as the whip-wielding superhero in the new comic book movie, and was believed to be battling with Catherine Zeta-Jones for the part.

However, Beckinsale - who dressed up as Wonder Woman to take her daughter, Lily, trick or treating on Halloween last year - has now revealed she would not accept the role if it were offered to her to spare Lily's blushes.

She said: "I've embarrassed my daughter enough. I don't think appearing in my underpants is appropriate."

Lily, six, is Beckinsale's daughter from her relationship with actor Michael Sheen. She is now married to film director Len Wiseman.
