David Beckham has revealed that he plans to stay living in America and hopes to become a US citizen.
The star, who has lived in the States with his wife Victoria and their three sons since 2007, told the LA Times yesterday that he would consider applying for US citizenship "one day".
He said: "Our boys go to school here. They're happy here. As long as they continue to be happy here, my wife's happy here, then we plan on staying.
When asked about becoming a fully-fledged American citizen, he said: "I hope so, one day. It would be nice."
Although the 35-year-old football star also admitted that he will always think of himself as English:
"I'm English born and bred and that's the way I'll always be. I'm an Englishman, you know."
Last month Victoria also hinted at the family staying in the US, saying she enjoys being the "tiny, tiny, tiny fish in a big pond".
