Ringo Starr is auctioning off the first copy of The Beatles self-titled 1968 album for charity. Every copy of the album came with its own serial number stamped on the cover and for the right price, a lucky bidder can get a hold of the one with number 0000001.
Julien's Auctions based in Beverly Hills said that the album can fetch up to £40,000.
It was long believed that the first numbered copy of the LP belongs to John Lennon who, according to Paul McCartney, "shouted the loudest" for it when the band decided to have the records individually numbered.
The Beatles possess the first four pressings while copy No. 0000005 was sold at an auction in 2008 for about £20,000.
