Fans of sitcom Outnumbered will surely find this news rather surprising. The people behind the hit show decided to pull the plug after the fifth season for the reason that they didn’t want to do another one just for the sake of it.
This is despite of impressive rankings and several awards.
The cast will start filming on November for 7 straight weeks and the show will return on May 2013 after 12-month break.
Tyger Drew-Honey, the 16-year old star who plays eldest child Jake said: “They’ve purposely made a point of holding it off - with the ages that Dan and Ramona Marquez, are now, they can take advantage of the fact that from the last time they were seen on TV to now, they’ve changed so much.
“If it was just six months later, it’s all the same kinds of storylines. In series one, I was considered ‘the old one’, getting my first girlfriend, now Ben might be having a girlfriend.
“So they wanted to allow it enough time, so they’d have more scope for storylines.”
