The Big Brother housemates saw final prize money drop some 3,000 pounds after they failed a live Saturday night challenge.
With GBP10,000 at stake, minds were focussed.
The housemates split into three teams for tests based on intelligence, skill and strength.
The gang had the job of deciding which proportion of the GBP10,000 was risked on each skill test.
In the first challenge, the contestants had to rearrange letters of a conundrum with each housemate wearing a sandwich board and physically forming themselves into a word.
Naturally and embarrassingly they failed to spell the word "bankrupt" and lost GBP3,000 to boot.
The group then had to knock down skittles in the garden with a human ball within the allocated two minutes.
A more cautious bet of GBP1,000 was placed and none was lost.
Then, housemates had one minute to carry helmet-adorned Shell with a loop strapped to her head along a wire without touching it.
The group - confident of success - emerged victorious in this test and pocketed GBP6,000 for their good work.
Stuart told Big Brother: "We've just come into say we thought tonight's task was wicked!
"We could really get our teeth into it...there was real team spirit in the air tonight."
The prize money now stands at GBP74,000, down GBPO26,000 from the start of the series.
5-2 Daniel is clear favourite to take home the booty.
Shell and Stuart are next at 3/1 each.
Jason is favourite for the next eviction at 6/4 after Victor at 2/1.
