Cult TV show 'Baywatch' is to be adapted for the big screen.
The iconic show, which starred David Hasselhoff and Pamela Anderson, will be revamped into a comedy film.
According to Variety Magazine, Jeremy Garelick, who worked on 'The Hangover', will write and direct the film.
He told the magazine: "It felt like the template to do a movie that was similar to 'Stripes' and 'Police Academy,' the comedies I loved growing up.
"Rather than trying to pitch the tone, I figured it would be easier to write the first act to convey who these characters were."
Garelick's version follows two out-of-shape wannabe lifeguards who are trying to keep up with their fitter colleagues.
None of the original cast will star in the movie, but it is rumoured that Hasselhoff and Anderson will make cameo appearances.
Baywatch was a huge hit in the 90s attracting more than 1.1billion viewers.
