The team investigating the possible wreckage of missing flight MH370 has confirmed that their search for the missing MH370 flight is back to square one after they fail to find any signs of wreckage following a week-long mission scanning the ocean floor.
Sources also confirmed that the investigation team is now considering the possibility that the flight landed somewhere rather than crashed.
The source said: "We may have to regroup soon to look into this possibility if no positive results come back in the next few days. But at the same time, the search mission in the Indian Ocean must go on.
"The thought of it landing somewhere else is not impossible, as we have not found a single (piece of) debris that could be linked to MH370. However, the possibility of a specific country hiding the plane when more than 20 nations are searching for it, seems absurd.”
On the other hand, police in Kuala Lumpur are investigating the possibility of sabotage in a separate accident after another Malaysia Airlines plane was forced to make an emergency landing yesterday.
Another aspect of the investigation relates to metal which was spotted washed up to shore – it is now being analysed.
