Despite previously denying the pregnancy rumours, Aussie Danii Minogue has confirmed she is expecting her first child.

The 38-year-old is three months pregnant and her and rugby player partner Kris Smith are said to be "delighted".

Dannii revealed the news via her Twitter page, saying: "Woo hoo I'm gonna be a mummy!:-)", to which Smith responded: "Woo hoo I'm gonna be a Daddy."

Pop princess and sister Kylie also commented on the happy news on Twitter, saying: "OMG OMG OMG Perfect!!!! So happy!!! A new Minogue!"

The X Factor judge was awaiting the results of her 12-week scan, however the news was leaked after the couple were spotted outside a clinic.

A spokesperson for the star said: "Dannii had her 12-week scan this week and was given the results today with the all-clear to make an announcement.

"Dannii and Kris are very excited and can't wait to start their family in 2010." The baby is due in July.

The couple met in 2008 during a holiday in Ibiza. Smith is a former rugby player for Leeds Rhinos. He has also forged a second career as a model.

ITV bosses have stated: "We are absolutely planning for The X Factor to return this autumn and next".

However, Dannii's future as a judge on the next series looks uncertain as the ITV show traditionally airs in August.
