Avatar actor Sam Worthington arrested over paparazzi punch

The Hollywood star has allegedly punched a photographer who kicked his model girlfriend Lara Bingle in the shin.

Avatar star has been arrested after he allegedly punched a paparazzi reporter who kicked his model girlfriend Lara Bingle in the shin.

According to New York Police, the couple left a bar in Greenwich Village at around 5:30 in the evening when the alleged assault took place.
Lieutenant John Grimpel told The Daily Telegraph: "It happened at 5.30pm this evening.

"The photographer kicked Lara and then Worthington punched him causing the photographer to have lacerations to his nose.

"He has been charged with assault. He punched the photographer."
The 37-year-old Australian actor has posted bail and is due to appear in court on February 26th.

The photographer, Sheng Li, was charged with reckless endangerment, assault, and harassment. He is still in custody.
