Emergency doctors often have a very limited time to provide the most appropriate treatment when dealing with life-threatening conditions. Their task of saving life could be side tracked if essential information such as the patient’s allergies to certain medications or other existing medical condition are not readily available. Stopping even just for a few seconds to find out these details could mean losing precious seconds that can eventually lead to the death of the patient.
Luckily, Apple offers the best solution. iPhone owners can use a Health App to save life-saving health information that doctor can access even if the mobile phone is locked. iPhone owners can enter personal details such as names, date of birth, and vital data, including any existing medical conditions, allergies, or if they’re currently on medication. Other details to be included are an emergency contact number and blood type.
For the doctor to access the app, iPhone users must simply turn emergency access on and the medics will see their profile in three simple steps, even when the iPhone is locked. Medics will simply swipe the home scree, tap “emergency” and “medical ID’ in the bottom left corner and they’ll get access to the information.
