Forbes has released their definitive rundown of this year’s top 10 most powerful celebrities.
Beyonce, who had 95 successful shows and who released her self-titled hit album last year, claimed the top spot ahead of her husband, Jay Z.
Oprah Winfrey also featured highly in the list and although she was not the highest earner on the list, her presence in the press and on social media helped her claim the top spot.
Meanwhile, basketball superstar Lebron James has jumped from 16th place last year to second place this year. He earned an estimated of $42million from his professional fee, endorsement deals, and the sale of headphone make Beats Electronics to iPhone maker Apple Inc. for £1.7bn. James was a small part-owner of the business.
Also rising high in the ranks, rapper Dr Dre made an impressive jump moving up from 63rd spot to third place this year. Earning £362million, Forbes said that the co-founder of Beats earned more money in the past 12 months than any other person in the history of its list thanks to the massive sale price of his company to Apple.
