Amanda Bynes has pleaded not guilty to the two counts of hit-and-run that she has been charged with.
The star of Hairspray was charged with two counts of hit-and-run after she left the scene of two collisions, one in April with a police car and another in August with a civilian vehicle.
Her pleas were entered by her attorney last Thursday. The actress, however, has to appear back in court on the 19th of October. If convicted, she may have to spend an entire year behind bars.
Aside from two counts of hit-and-run, Bynes is also faced with other charges, including two counts of driving with a suspended licence and one count of driving under the influence.
She is scheduled for trial on October 29 for these other misdemeanors.
Amanda Bynes, who enjoyed fame when she was younger, has now joined the ranks of out-of-control young stars who are notorious for their run-ins with the police. Other young actresses who have gotten in trouble with the cops include Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton.
Amanda Bynes is best known for her TV series The Amanda Show, but she has also starred in several teen romantic comedies including Love Wrecked, She’s the Man, Sydney White, and Easy A.
