Amanda Bynes could face up to a year in jail after she was charged with two counts of hit and run last month. The actress is due to appear in court on September 27 to face the charges being filed against her.
New reports state that a victim, named as Kisa, claims she ‘could have been killed’, as quoted by the Mail Online.
“Someone could have died if (Bynes) kept driving,”she told TMZ, as quoted by Mail Online.
“A normal person would not get away with hit and runs and she shouldn’t either.”
The count of hit and run stemmed from one crash that occurred in August of this year.
After the actress met an accident last August 4, she left the scene without providing sufficient information.
The accident, in which she rear-ended a Volvo, caused a dent on her black BMW, which she has been seen driving around since then.
The other count was charged after the actress was identified by another motorist as the driver of a rented car that got involved in another hit and run case. Although that case was initially dismissed due to the lack of independent witnesses, it was reopened after another hit and run case was linked to Bynes.
Bynes has had her driving license suspended, as was the court case, although new reports state the reason for her license being suspended is not clear.
Both misdemeanors carry a maximum sentence of six months. When found guilty for both, the actress could face one year behind bars.
