Adele has confirmed that she will release a new single this year, but warned that her next album wonÂ’t follow any time soon.
The comments will fuel speculation that the record-breaking singer will record the theme tune for the next Bond film.
The singer told France's NRJ:
"If I didn't write my own songs, I'd be out next week with a new album.
"I have to take time and live a little bit. There were a good two years between my first and second albums, so it'll be the same this time."
The British songstress added that she isnÂ’t worried that her next album wonÂ’t be able to live up to the success of 21, which has already sold more than 20million copies worldwide.
"I don't think I'll feel the pressure for the next album to be as big as the last one because I know that's not really possible.
"What's happened with this album is very rare anyway."
21 recently became the seventh best-selling album in the UK, overtaking Pink Floyd's The Dark Side Of The Moon.
