Abducted' Girl Is Found After 10 Years

The woman, who was abducted when she was just 15 years old, called the police saying she was held captive by her mother’s boyfriend.

A 25-year-old woman has contacted the police saying that she was abducted 10 years ago by her mother’s boyfriend. She said that the abduction took place in 2004 where the suspect, Isidro Garcia, allegedly drugged the then 15-year-old victim and attacked her mother. He drove her to a house in Compton where he locked her in a garage. 

 

41-year-old Garcia has been arrested on suspicion of abduction, rape, lewd acts with minor, and false imprisonment. 

 

Police say that the suspect moved home several times to avoid detection and gave the girl multiple fake identities. He also obtained night-shift cleaning jobs for the two of them so he could watch over her. 

 

Meanwhile, the victim, who was not named, is believed to have been sexually abused and bore a child to her captor in 2012. 

Police Corporal Anthony Bertagna said of the victim, who had entered the US illegally from Mexico and spoke no English: "You're talking about a 15-year-old girl that's in a new country. She's got nowhere to go."

"Even with the opportunity to escape, after years of physical and mental abuse, the victim saw no way out of her situation.”
