Giant search engine Google has released the top 10 most searched keywords for 2013 giving us an idea on the news and stories that people around the world find most interesting.
One of the most searched categories is famous figures who have died this year. In the UK, the most searched is American actor and The Fast and the Furious star Paul Walker. Meanwhile, Cory Monteith, who is best known for his role in Glee came in fourth place. South African leader Nelson Mandela was in sixth spot while the former UK Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher was in ninth place.
The gadget industry also found its way to the top 10 most searched terms. iPhone 5s, which was released this year, is the second most searched term while Xbox One came in tenth place.
Claudine Beaumont of Google UK, said: “Our annual Zeitgeist survey provides a fascinating snapshot of our interests and obsessions for the year. Celebrities always get a lot of interest and the passing of well-known figures makes people want to learn more about them.
"Despite that, some of the more traditional aspects of British life, from the Grand National to the royal birth, have generated many Google searches and will be remembered as events that have characterised the year."
