.Know what you need. The first step is to determine the kind of travel insurance that you really need. What countries are you visiting? What kind of activities are you going to do?
Do you need comprehensive insurance? Do you have other insurance policies in place that offer the kind of coverage that you’re looking for? The more you understand your needs, the more likely that you’ll find the cheapest but best insurance for you.
.Talk to your broker. Nobody understands travel insurance more than brokers. Take the time to talk to them to discuss your needs. Tell them what you can afford and the specific coverage that you’re looking for.
.Shop around. There are a lot of insurance companies offering travel insurance policies. Go to websites that offer comparison charts to easily figure out the one that offers the cheapest. Just ensure that the coverage offered is adequate to meet your needs and demands.
.Talk to your current insurance company. Contact the insurance company where you got your home insurance, car insurance, etc. They may give you a discount for being a local or repeat customer.
