3-year-old girl 'wakes up' at her own funeral only to die days later

Video footage from the funeral appears to show the toddler waking up but doctors were unable to save her afterwards.

A three-year-old from the Philippines apparently woke up during her own funeral. Based from the video footage taken during the funeral service on Saturday, the toddler began moving her head and opened her eyes before her shocked family took her out of her coffin.

She was previously declared clinically dead by medial personnel in Zamboanga del Sur, Mindanao on Friday.

Senior Inspector Heidil Teelan, police chief in Aurora, told The Philippine Star the girl had been suffering from a severe fever when she was taken to a medical clinic.

He told the newspaper: "During that time, the attending clinic personnel and physician confirmed that the young patient had no more pulse and was clinically dead last Saturday morning about 9am."

He added that after the girl “woke up” at her own funeral, she was taken by her family members to the hospital. However, doctors were unable to save the little girl and she died on Monday.
