Police were called at Clapham Terrace Community primary school after two primary school pupils allegedly tried to poison their teacher with a bleach-like substance.
According to reports, the pair apparently laced a flask belonging to 39-year-old Emma Place with. However, the teacher was warned by another pupil before drinking it.
The Sun has reported that the two youngsters were suspended following the incident. They were alleged to be part of a group of children calling themselves “the Mafia”. It has been revealed that they had a 'hit list' of six teachers they wanted to target.
The incident took place just 24 hours after Ann Maguire, another teacher from Leeds, was stabbed to death by another student.
Philip Robbins, the primary school's chair of governors said: "The school has dealt with the situation appropriately and we're hoping to move on," he said.
"Neither the school nor the teacher are pressing charges.”
Meanwhile, a spokesman for Warwickshire Police said: "It was decided it was an isolated incident and was dealt with internally by the school.”
"I don't think the pupils realised the seriousness or severity of the situation."
