Altra Torin IQ, the $220 smart running shoes and run-coaching wearable rolled into one, is powered by iFit technology. It is outfitted with sensors in the insole that tracks how fast and far you run as well as a voice coach the offers advise on how to run better while you’re mid-stride.
The shoes were also designed to capture key information including cadence, pace, and distance as well as the wearer’s running style, landing zone and impact rate making them a perfect choice for runners who want to improve their form and efficiency.
Altra’s Torin IQ, which essentially combines the biggest features of the Lumo Run wearable coach and Under Armour’s Gemini 2 smart shoes, look and feel exactly like regular running shoes. It features an A-Bound cushioning and a 28mm stack height that produce a smoother run. It also makes tracking more convenient by eliminating the need to wear a tracker on your wrist or around your chest.
Altra’s Torin IQ gives you the option to listen to music with the voice coach chiming in occasionally if there are some things you can do to improve your performance such as fixing your posture and how to better handle the rest of your body.
