Benson Parish Council, which currently rents a CCTV system, is buying its own for £4,000. The decision was made after a council meeting heard that the renewal of its contract with B2B of Finchampstead would cost the council almost £19,000 in the next six years.
Members decided to buy new equipment for £3,660 plus VAT and £220 for maintenance. The cameras are expected to last up to 10 years and cost about £400 each to replace.
